Maxxie's smile goes soft as he shakes his head.

"I'm just kidding you, dude," he says sincerely. "I don't want to spank you or put you to work. I haven't got any homework or heavy lifting."

He turns his head to stare at the kitchen, rolling his shoulders in a shrug. "It sucked, but you're sorry. I don't really believe in punishment anyway."
